Audun Mikalsen
Audun began his maritime career on the West Coast of Norway as a ship agent, commercial diver, and PADI dive instructor before moving into international roles. He now has over 15 years of experience in global business development, sales, and consulting—helping technology suppliers implement value-creating strategies and lead digital transformation initiatives, with a particular focus on the Latin American markets.
He holds an MPhil in Latin American Studies from the University of Cambridge, where he conducted postgraduate research at the Department of Politics and International Studies. A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in London, Audun has undertaken extensive fieldwork in some of South America’s most remote regions and has shared his expedition experiences through illustrated talks at Cambridge. He is fluent in Norwegian, English, and Spanish.
On a voluntary basis, Audun supports Indigenous and local communities in destination management, helping to develop bespoke expeditions to remote archaeological sites. His work includes creating strategies to boost sustainable tourism, enhance visitor experiences, and support the preservation and management of cultural heritage through awareness and funding. He also contributes to EyeSea, combining his maritime technology expertise with a commitment to reducing global pollution and maritime hazards.
